Come and join us at the Sacred Pyramid! An important cultural node for the greater Tallahassee community, Teddy Tollett has been hosting events celebrating and advancing sustainability, community, music, and the arts. The 24 acre expanse has been fostering growth, community, magic, and creative expression since 1977.
The Pyramid Healing Center is situated on a 30 degree ley line. The same latitude as the Pyramids at Giza! Far away from the various noises of city life, it is very serene and quite. Teddy has generously offered his space for this event! Indoor space is reserved but bathrooms will be available.
Sink Holes, or Cenotes, in the area result from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes the subterranean river below. Another word for this is “karst window” which is an unroofed portion of a cavern, revealing part of a subterranean river of spring water perfect for swimming and diving. The larger spring pool is about 50 ft wide and 160 ft long. It is over 30 feet deep near the cavern at the north end of the pool.
Brief History: Geologically, Florida is situated atop rocks, primarily of sedimentary origin, that consist mostly of limestone, sandstone, shales and clays, and the underlying foundation rock is a very massive and thick limestone. The conditions under which this limestone formed were a clear sea with an abundance of minute organisms. The shells of these tiny animals, as well as shells from larger sea life, compressed over thousands of years to form the limestone. The underwater fresh water flow, Florida’s aquifer system, has moved among these porous deposits to form underground rivers, sinkholes and even some very extensive caves!
