Sen Elias

Sen Elias says his relationship to hoodoo holds deep ancestral ties. While voodoo is more widely considered a religion (with branches of both Haitian and Louisiana voodoo), hoodoo, also called root work, is the practice of folk magic brought to the United States by way of West Africa through the transatlantic slave trade.

As a descendant of the South Carolina Gullah community — descendants of enslaved Africans along the Southeast Lowcountry — Elias’ path to hoodoo felt directly intertwined with his own heritage.

“Hoodoo is a something that lies in the blood lines and lineages — so it’s not something you necessarily have to search for, “ Elias said. “It’s already in you.”

In 2015, he founded Crescent City Conjure, a full-service Hoodoo shop in the heart of New Orleans. Sen Elias is a third degree High Priest in the Alexandrian tradition, scratched in Palo Mayombe, High Priest in the Hoodoo tradition, and has received the Hand of Ifa. Although his journey started at a young age, he never stops growing, learning and educating others in the spiritual arts. Sen Elias teaches courses both in-person and through his virtual educational portal called Crossroads Academy. He also presents sessions around the country at conferences and workshops on Hoodoo, conjure, and rootwork.

Lon Milo Duquette

Singer-songwriter, recording artist, and humorist, Lon Milo DuQuette is also the author of 19 critically acclaimed books (translated in 12 languages) on Magick and the Occult. Critics have called him one of the most respected and entertaining writers and lecturers in the field of the Western Mystery Traditions.

Since 1975 DuQuette been a national and international governing officer of Ordo Templi Orientis, one of the most influential magical societies of the 20th and 21st Centuries. He is currently the Order's United States Deputy Grand Master. He is an internationally recognized authority on tarot, ceremonial magick, and esoteric Freemasonry. Although he takes these subjects very seriously, he tries not to take himself too seriously. This rare combination of scholarship and humor has earned him in the last 30 years a unique and respected position in American spiritual and esoteric literature.

DuQuette appears occasionally on television and radio as a guest expert on subjects involving the occult. He is a contributor to the Magical Egypt DVD series and a host on the new series, The Great Work.

He is a faculty member of the Omega Institute in Reinbeck New York, and Robert Anton Wilson's Maybe Logic Academy.

Frater Barrabbas Tiresius (he/him) is a practicing ritual magician who has studied magic and the occult for over forty years. He believes that ritual magic is a discipline whose mystery is unlocked by continual practice and by occult experiences and revelations. Frater Barrabbas believes that traditional approaches should be balanced with creativity and experimentation, and that no occult or magical tradition is exempt from changes and revisions.

Over the years, he found that his practical magical discipline was the real source for all his creative efforts. That creative process helped him build and craft a unique and different kind of magical system, one that is quite unlike any other yet based on common Wiccan practices. So, despite its uniqueness this magical system is capable of being easily adapted and used by others.

Frater Barrabbas is also the founder of a magical order called the Order of the Gnostic Star the Egregore Sancta Stella Gnostica, and he is an elder and lineage holder in the Alexandrian tradition of Witchcraft.
